Dalia Hussein is an Egyptian photographer and visual artist with a BA degree in Mass Communication & Psychology from the American university in Cairo. This triple focus on visual art, communication and psychology is reflected in her photographic practice which encompasses fine art, fashion and documentary genres. She also holds two MA programs in Photography and Arts Management.
Initially influenced by painting and conceptual tendencies, she became interested in photography as a meduim for both; self discovery and means to explore and understand the other. She focuses on notions of identity, minorities, and immigration in her visual storytelling. Her academic background, cross-cultural experience, and personal narrative shape her photography.
