BIOGRAPHY

Dalia Hussein is an Egyptian photographer and visual artist based in Barcelona, with two MA degrees in Photography, Design and Cultural Management from Spain. Also, a holder of BA degree in Mass Communication and Psychology from the American University in Cairo. This triple focus on photography, communication and psychology is reflected on her visual art practice which encompass fine art, social and documentary photography.

Initially influenced by abstract painting and conceptual tendencies, she became interested in photography as a meduim for both; self discovery and means to explore and understand the other. She focuses on notions of identity, gender and minorities in her visual storytelling. Her academic background, cross-cultural experience, and personal narrative shape her work.
